Meet Deputy CISO John Coleman

Recently, Jeremy Rosenberg, Yale’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), was promoted to Assistant Vice President, IT. While he will continue in his role as CISO, he is taking on new responsibilities.

We are pleased to share that John Coleman was appointed Associate CIO and Deputy CISO in November 2023. Working alongside Jeremy, he will continue to help expand a robust cybersecurity program and partner with the Yale community.

John joined the Yale Information Security office in 2016.  He is responsible for cybersecurity risk management, IT compliance and security engineering for Yale. He led the launch of Yale’s application security and vulnerability management programs. Under John’s leadership, the team transformed Yale’s security planning assessment and third-party risk management programs.

Prior to 2016, John led teams in infrastructure operations and drove multiple transformative IT infrastructure initiatives at Yale.

John holds an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Yale, and a BFA in Painting from the University of Kansas.

You’ll see more of John in 2024 via Information Security Office communications and events.
