You identify the components of your IT System in YALE-MSS-2.1. To create a successful DR plan, you need to know how to recover each of those components. 

Identify the steps to follow in the event any of the components of the IT System were unavailable. In the event that resilience is built into the design of the IT System, call that out.

Things to consider when identifying these procedures include: 

  • Identifying which components can be down without impacting availability
  • Defining the steps to restore each component (e.g. server, database) back to health
