Did you know that 82% of data breaches have been linked to human-related security weaknesses? That’s according to a leading annual security report.
That means, often unknowingly, we can be the culprits for someone accessing Yale systems.
We may be tricked into clicking on a malicious link when we're distracted. We might encounter a fraudulent version of the Central Authentication System (CAS) login page.
These things can fool any of us - especially these days when cybercriminals use AI-sophisticated attacks that are difficult to recognize.
The good news is that October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month! It’s a dedicated time to spotlight the importance of digital safety and foster increased awareness.
This year’s theme is Strengthen Your Cyber Shield. Together, we can take simple steps to build strong cyber-safe behaviors – both at Yale and at home.
Here are three ways you can strengthen your cyber shield this month:
- Complete Bee Cyber Fit at Yale: The Essentials to Working Securely.
We’ve just introduced our first-ever self-paced cybersecurity awareness curriculum. You’ll learn the most important steps you can take to safeguard Yale's information.
Finish the course by October 25 and you’ll be entered to win our exclusive Bee Cyber Fit socks featuring Boola, the Cyber Bee. Plus, you’ll also gain access to a special invitation-only trivia game on October 30 and 31 for a chance to win one of our brand-new Yeti tumblers.
- Attend an October learning event.
