Protect Your Identity
Strong passwords were once the gold standard for protecting our identity, but online threats have evolved. Using a password alone is like having a lone guard who cannot provide adequate defense at a gate.
Strong passwords, while crucial, are no longer enough. Enabling MFA and staying vigilant against fake login screens are two simple ways to boost our security.
That’s why we’ve evolved our Use Secure Passwords page. Now called Protect Your Identity this change reflects the need for multiple layers of protection for our accounts. Visit the new and improved Protect Your Identity page for more information.

Finding services that meet your risk classification
Looking for a service to do your work at Yale securely? Our Know Your Risk: Find and use services that meet your risk classification page outlines how to find an existing service that meets your risk level or what to do if you’re using a new system.
Finding an existing service:
You can investigate available services and applications via the Service Offerings page on the IT at Yale website. You can also contact the Service Owner to determine if the application or software is secure for the work you are doing.
Building or purchasing a new service:
If you are building or purchasing a new service or application, this will require a Security Planning Assessment (SPA). The SPA process can confirm if services are secure for the risk classification of your work.
